Ben Affleck is reportedly easing back into the dating as He and Jennifer Lopez Are Declared Legally Single

Ben Affleck is reportedly easing back into the dating world following his divorce from Jennifer Lopez, which was finalized on January 6. A source close to the actor revealed to PEOPLE that Affleck is "casually dating," though it’s not a major priority for him. Instead, the Oscar winner is said to be deeply committed to his work. When he’s not filming, he spends long hours at his office. Additionally, the 52-year-old actor dedicates significant time to his three children with ex-wife Jennifer Garner: Violet Anne, 19, Seraphina Rose, 16, and Samuel, 12. The source emphasized that Affleck is particularly close to his youngest son, Samuel.

The news of Affleck’s casual dating comes after the Los Angeles County Superior Court officially dissolved his marriage to Lopez on February 21, declaring both legally single. The couple, who rekindled their relationship in 2021 after ending their first engagement in 2004, married in a private Las Vegas ceremony in July 2022, followed by a celebration in Georgia the next month. However, their marriage ended when Lopez filed for divorce on August 20, 2024, citing irreconcilable differences and listing April 26, 2024, as their separation date. Lopez, who filed without a lawyer, requested no spousal support for either party and asked to revert to her former name, Jennifer Lynn Lopez. The two will share the proceeds from the sale of their Beverly Hills mansion.

Meanwhile, Affleck remains focused on his career. His upcoming project, The Accountant 2, a sequel to his 2016 action-thriller, is set to premiere at the SXSW Film Festival on March 8 and will be released in theaters on April 25. Affleck will reprise his role as Christian Wolff, alongside Jon Bernthal as his brother Brax. He also recently teased his new action-packed thriller, RIP, during Netflix’s 2025 preview event on January 29. Describing the film as a blend of HeatNarc, and Training Day, Affleck highlighted its exploration of what people will do for money. The movie, which reunites him with Matt Damon, will stream on Netflix.
